Goal-driven law enforcement professional with a solid background in Criminology and Psychology, complemented by hands-on experience across various roles in police work. I specialize in the legal concepts and application of Use of Force, holding multiple instructor certifications.Graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in 2015 with a Bachelor's in Criminology and a minor in Psychology, I began my law enforcement career with a 120-hour internship at the Johnston Police Department in the summer of 2014. I joined the Johnston Police Department in October 2015 and became a certified Iowa Police Officer after completing the 595-hour Iowa Law Enforcement Basic Academy.I have held multiple positions, including Patrol Officer, Property and Evidence Technician, Crime Scene Investigator, Officer In Charge, Quick Reaction Team Operator, Field Training Officer, Detective, and currently, Corporal in the patrol division. My expertise includes being an ILEA state-certified Defensive Tactics Instructor, a Gracie Survival Tactics Level 1 & 2 Instructor, and an Expandable Baton Instructor. Additionally, I am a certified Force Science Institute Analyst.Having years of experience in criminal investigations, my skills include crime scene processing, evidence collection, computer/phone forensics, and intelligence. I am proficient in writing subpoenas, search warrants, conducting interviews and using both open and closed sources to gather critical information to build comprehensive cases for prosecution. Committed to continuing education, I emphasize lifelong learning and professional development—not only for myself but also for the officers I instruct and field train.
