My name is Ethan, and I am Junior at Penn State Main Campus studying Human-Computer Interaction with a minor in Security & Risk Analysis. I am hard-working individual who is always looking for an opportunity to broaden my education. I've worked on a multitude of projects in the HCI space. Additionally, I have honed in my proficiencies in Python, HTML/CSS, and Java. I am always keeping up to date with the latest developments in HCI and adjacent fields in psychology.Here at Penn State, I work in the Wyble Attention Lab as a full-stack developer intern for our website. Our website serves as a simulation for human attentional blinks by using a computational algorithm to simulate the real life probabilities. After the simulation, graphs are made to visualize where the attention is directed in a 3D space as well as graphs indicating signals produced in multiple imaging technologies. My role is to manage the website that simulates human attention. I work with a computational model that simulates imaging readings and converts these readings into visualizations that the user can employ to interpret the results. Docker is used for the computational model's files and all the code is uploaded onto AWS. Proper documentation is kept ensuring that there is a clear history of changes, and communication is done primarily through slack. In addition to my work on the website, I meet weekly with colleagues to collaborate in weekly discussions on upcoming research developments and new research that has been published in our field.
