Responsibilities include:-Managing medium scale centrifugal pump design projects and development.-With guidance from Senior Engineers, responsible for designing pump hydraulics.-Designing, scheduling, and performing all required product testing and evaluating results.-Developing project proposals including costs, economic project values and schedules.-Investigate to determine causes of reported field problems with products, including warranty requests for failed products.-Knowledgeable of product lines, marketplace requirements, customer trends, and applicable industry standards.-Provide dealer, end user, and sales staff training in product application and maintenance.-Provide technical support to other departments, including sales and manufacturing: field troubleshooting, product application, value engineering, and problem solving.

Continuing to provide direct support to design engineers, drafters, and project engineers by completing the following:-Investigate malperformance of pumps during testing and coordinate with order processing to communicate hydraulic non-conformances to suppliers.-Support project and design engineering projects by modeling and drafting critical design features.-Manage small new product design projects with oversight.-Design custom test plans for new product design projects.

Provided Engineering assistance to Cornell Engineers, Technicians, Drafters, Sales and operations personnel by completing the following duties:-Assist Design and Project engineers in mechanical design of centrifugal pumps and centrifugal pump mounting, including metallurgical requirements.-Support component revisions and maintenance with the guidance of the CAD Admin.-Complete design for standardized test lab mounting systems.

During this four-week program, I learned the following:- Trigonometry applied to machining practices.- Blueprint reading.- Precision measuring techniques using micrometers, bore gauges, depth gauges, dial calipers, vernier calipers, and more.- Lathe machining techniques.- Manual mill machining techniques. At the end of this program, I designed and manufactured a customized brass hammer.
