I am a political scientist and study European Union politics, elite decision-making, democratic backsliding – especially in Central Eastern Europe – and judicial politics. I have won a re:constitution fellowship 2024/25 with a project on academic legitimation of authoritarian politics in Hungary. I also work on an ERC project on informal judicial institutions at the Judicial Studies Institute at Masaryk University. As a researcher on Verfassungsblog's Thuringia Project, I study subnational authoritarianism and work with policymakers and the media. Finally, I am a DPhil candidate at the University of Oxford, where I am close to submitting my thesis: 'Supranational Tug of War: European Union and the Future of the Authoritarian Equilibrium'.
