As a design engineer in Hoganas Bjuf Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd, my job scope is to carry out planning, design, costing, supply and delivery of refractory products; apart from the mentioned, I also liaise with the customers and contractors with full technical support on the site installation, material handling & storage, and other related issues.Planning - is the most important step for all projects. This includes communication with the customers, project manager, and between sales person and technical supervisors, regarding site's conditions, requirement and specifications.Design - is the next step to determine the correct refractory materials based on customer's input, requirements, specifications and past problematic issues in their plant. Drawings, sketches, technical advise are provided for further explanation and discussion of the impact of proposed refractory materials towards the customer plant's operation. Costing – is to make calculations, based on drawings, sketches, and requirement from customer, and make tender quotation with correct cost and profit for the sales team to further activate the sales negotiation.Development – some times customer will have great ideas and/or experiences of refractory design, and would like to try out the ideas in some particular area. I will then develop the design, shape of the refractory bricks, per-fabricated blocks, special anchors and installation methods based on the suitability.Supply and delivery – after getting an order, the production department must be informed and schedule for production. I will monitor the quality issues during production, and ensure the delivery is schedule for delivery within the promised delivery time. Technical support - I will also feedback any site progress, issues, handling and complaint made from the customer at their site to the sales team, supervisors and HQ.My responsible markets are, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.

As a mechanical project engineer in Nu Con Systems Sdn Bhd, my job scope is to carry out planning, design, fabrication, supply, install and commissioning of pneumatic conveying systems for pharmaceutical, organic, polymer and sanitary food products industry.Design – When an order is placed, I will make the design based on client's system requirement, which includes attending site meetings and measurements.Fabrication – After preliminary design is approved by the customer, we fabricate the steel equipments according to the customer's standard. Supply - We also source pumps, blowers, conveyors and other equipments and hardwares from reliable suppliers. These equipments are deliver together with factory fabricated equipments to the site.Installation – Once we have the equipments delivered, I will arrange contractors to do the site installation. This include planning of site work, installation permits, mobilizing equipments within installation perimeter. Commissioning – After installation complete, I will arrange commissioning engineer from local office, or even from HQ if necessary, to carry out test and commissioning together.
