• Joined to help set up the liability driven investment (LDI) rates/fixed income desk to increase access to GBP fixed income market flows. • Initiated and developed strong relationships with UK LDI and fixed income clients. Where these relationships were new to the bank, I introduced relevant desks to the client, resulting in cross asset increase in revenues. • Specific focus on Sterling products (Gilts, Linkers and derivatives) but also worked with USD, CAD, AUD and EUR markets. • Generated ideas, co-priced with trading and executed LDI and fixed income trades and packages, as well as recouponing trades. • Also covered multi asset funds, with the responsibility for generating fixed income and rates trade ideas, as well as co-ordinating other asset classes (FX, equities and credit) to present on monthly calls to clients. • Organised research trips for domestic and international research personnel and traders, as well as broader client events.

• Covering UK and International real money accounts on bond and interest rate products – specifically European and Scandinavian Government bonds, as well as derivative markets. • Utilised fund management experience to develop and present trade ideas both internally and externally. • Led London office in global sales/trading calls to discuss trade ideas and client activity.

• Covered UK real money accounts on Global Government bonds/rates – both conventional and inflation linked assets – building strong relationships with PM’s and dealers. • Organised client presentations, including inflation ‘teach-in’ sessions with traders and strategists to better educate clients (PMs, product specialists, marketers, etc) on the subject of inflation and inflation linked assets.

• Covered UK and international conventional and inflation linked markets. This included the generation, analysis and monitoring of investment ideas within our macro strategy, to which I also contributed. • Constructed portfolios to ensure that the investment strategy was correctly reflected across mandates. • Input and executed trades taking into account market conditions and liquidity with respect to the size of trades. • Monitored market movements and positions to add or reduce risk at given levels. • Participated in monthly meetings where I contributed to economic and market strategy discussions with respect to global bond markets. • Wrote and presented relevant Powerpoint presentations and forward looking analysis, as well as having joint responsibility for the quarterly macro publication. • Represented the desk at company-wide meetings to develop the fixed income performance and risk reporting process.

• Responsible for all ex-Japan credit analysis, including corporate credit and sector based reports as necessary. • Maintenance of the ex-Japan credit models and continued improvement of the top down credit process. • Contribution to all weekly and monthly strategy meetings, including: bond, FX, yield curve, credit and sector meetings from a market and macroeconomic perspective.
