I left my job as a transportation engineer with JB Barry & Partners to pursue my Olympic dream of winning an elusive medal for Ireland. Unfortunately injury during the 2008 season cost me my place in Beijing where my Irish team mates went on to finish in 10th place•Silver Medalist Senior World Rowing Championship 2005•Rowing World Cup Champion 2006•Bronze Medalist Senior World Rowing Championship 2006•Identified by the Irish Sports Council as a high-potential professional athlete in 2005, thereby securing the maximum grant of €30,000. Only 6 athletes from a pool of over 150 funded athletes in Ireland secured this level of funding•As an amateur, trained 30 hours per week whilst working fulltime as an engineer

Member of Irish Olympic rowing team at Athens 2004, finishing in 6th place in the lightweight four.I won a silver medal at the Under 23 World rowing championships in 2001 and from that moment I decided to train full time with my goal of winning a medal at the 2004 Olympics.Also involved in coaching young rowers and representing athletes in formal and informal communication
