This position has enabled me to work in a team and to create events where every individual in the Human Ecology program can take part in and connect with one another. Although it has only been one month of being in the Exec team, I have already built up a lot of experience in leadership, time management, and most importantly, teamwork. My position as VP Promo means that I am in charge of creating digital posters and PowerPoint slides that are captivating enough to generate interest in the current students of Human Ecology as well as those in other disciplines. This will then encourage them to join the events and in turn engage them in the program.

I am from Vancouver, BC and during the summer, I return home. I have worked in this senior's home for the past 2 summers. In this position, I welcome visitors who come see a senior, as well as aid in the daily activities the seniors take part of (such as karaoke, bingo, and exercise). I am also in charge of taking phone calls. I have also helped out in emergency situations such as calling the emergency hotline and asking for an ambulance. This job helped me gain more experience about interacting with the older population and being able to keep them optimistic as they move into the last stage of their lives.
