A Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) driver provides safe, reliable transportation for individuals who need assistance getting to medical appointments but do not require emergency medical care.Responsibilities: Transport Patients: Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, including doctor’s visits, dialysis treatments, physical therapy, and other non-emergency medical services. Assist Passengers: Provide assistance to patients, especially those with mobility challenges, by helping them enter and exit the vehicle and securing any mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walkers. Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and ready for service, including performing routine checks and reporting any mechanical issues. Adhere to Schedules: Maintain punctuality and adhere to scheduled pickup and drop-off times to ensure patients arrive at their appointments on time. Documentation: Keep accurate records of each trip, including patient details, pick-up and drop-off times, and any special needs or instructions related to the patient’s care. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of seat belts, proper vehicle loading techniques, and maintaining the vehicle in a safe condition. Customer Service: Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with patients, family members, and medical staff.
