The goal of the 1,5M€ Rising North Fund was to support 30 pan-Nordic initiatives with up to 50 000€ per project. Each project had to have organizers from at least three different Nordic countries. The fund was operated by the Finnish Startup Foundation and backed by the Nordic Council of Ministers. I was in charge of the marketing side at the fund and also helped applicants to draft the applications to the Rising North Steering Board which makes the final decision whether to approve an application.Read our final project report at risingnorth.org

I was in charge of building and strengthening the Nordic startup ecosystem around the Slush movement. My role was vital in creating a regional pride and willingness to collaborate between the Nordic startup hubs, including Stockholm, Malmö, Copenhagen, Oslo, Bergen, and Reykjavik. I have been part of founding team behind the NordicMade brand.Slush brings together the leading factors of the global tech scene to Helsinki for something very special. Described by many as “Burning Man meets TED”, the event has grown in just a few short years to over 17,000 attendees and 1 million live stream viewers. Over 2,000 startups, 1000 investors, and 700 journalists from over 120 countries come to Slush to advance their business and to experience the phenomenal atmosphere.The organization behind Slush is non-profit, driven by students, and it gathers more than 2,300 enthusiastic volunteers who create the event.
