I am intrigued by the opportunities that consulting and financial services provides to have a meaningful impact on the world around us. Additionally, I am excited to work alongside some of today’s greatest minds. As I continue through my academic and professional experiences, I further position and prepare myself for my future in the world of finance.I have always enjoyed finding hidden patterns to identify real-life solutions. My skills within systematic problem solving have been developed and strengthened by my undergraduate area of study: Talmudic Law. Talmudic Law is the in-depth analysis of the ancient Aramaic and Hebraic legal texts found within the Talmud. Every case study begins with the unique details provided. The team then analyzes the details as well as related outside texts in the goal of reaching a mutually agreeable recommendation. I received ordination in Talmudic study from the Supreme Court of Jerusalem, the highest level degree in this field of study. I believe that the years I have spent studying the Talmud have helped me develop a specific methodological approach that will enable me to thrive in the broader finance world.I had the honor of being a consultant on the Johns Hopkins Graduate Consulting Group’s COVID-19 relief team. My assigned client was a start-up search hedge fund based in Baltimore. My team and I created an entirely new leveraged buyout model as well as a new client engagement playbook tailored for our drastically changed financial environment. Additionally, I personally developed a market research template, while conducting analysis on the healthcare industry as a sample. I genuinely appreciated this opportunity to help a young company navigate through these financially unprecedented times. Moreover, the skills I gained within client-facing financial analysis will prove advantageous in my future.Four years ago, I took a mentoring position and philosophy lecturer in Aish HaTorah, a philosophical and Talmudic seminary in Jerusalem. Upon reflection, these were some of the most formative moments of my life. It was during this year when I was able to develop my public oration skills; learning from some of the greatest Jewish philosophers and narrators of our day. Additionally, my position as a mentor allowed me to work on my ability to facilitate open dialogue and create meaningful relationships. While these important communication skills were developed in a field quite different than my career path, I am confident they will prove essential in my career trajectory.
