In my time studying as a graduate student of communication, I have explored the nuances of a multitude of communicative acts and artifacts, using formal research methods to explore their intricacies. Through such research, I've: -Engaged in numerous forms of research studying rhetorical techniques used my media, government, and influential individuals in contemporary culture. -Spent time in studying cultural performance, reading, analyzing, and engaging in cultural identities through performative acts, traditional performances, and written works. -Studied effects of media, looking not only at the consequences and effects of influential media messages, but also examined the uses and effects of different medium.-Been trained and certified in ethical human research methods, focusing on qualitative data. Through this training, I've become adept in interviewing, running focus groups, and participating in ethnographic research.

Utilizing Public Speech History, Teach middle school students (Age 11-13) core concepts and fundamentals of public speech and performance. Specifically, my responsibilities were:-Managing 30+ students, ages 11-13-Critiquing and giving constructive criticism on speeches and performances-supervising off-campus trips for tournaments - Judged speeches and performances for ranking purposes in tournament

Working as an intern in the communications department, my responsibilities were broad, and was left in charge of several jobs concerning the stations communication both internally and externally. Specifically, my tasks included:-Helping Managing Social Media Pages-Writing Blogs and Posts for Local Artists and Bands-Contribute to Weekly Team Meetings with Creative solutions to prblems-Write Press Releases for upcoming pieces released from the station

Competitor (2013-2015)While competing in the forensics community, I studied, edited, and performed several pieces of literature deemed appropriate and socially relevant to today's society. Further, i also wrote and edited speeches of more professional based content, including impromptu, sales, persuasion, and informational speeches. In such pursuits, I had qualified 3 such pieces for the national tournament, allowing me to compete against some of the finest public Speakers the college circuit has to offerVice President (2013-2014). Assisted President in any duties that needed to be filled, including booking spaces for practices, helping new members learn rules and formalities of the community, help competitors edit pieces and write speeches, among whatever else was needed at any given time.President (2014-2015)Was in charge of general team morale, organization of events, and keeping the team as a whole moving. Specific responsobilities included:- working with the student organization board to obtain funding and to green-light events- Finding and editing literature for personal and team use- Recruiting for the team from both college and high school pools
