Performed coding, modeling, testing, and writing reports for flawed rotating dynamic systems. The research involved cracked rotating shafts that oscillate based on flaw depth. Neural network coding was implemented to learn/model/predict the oscillations as the crack depth value changed. The network was then evaluated against the system’s dynamic equations of motion to predict the behavior of the system, assess the performance of the network, and provide insight into the lifespan of the flawed system. As an undergraduate researcher, I was tasked with developing weekly reports for my research professor based on the work assigned and the performance of the code for each iteration of the testing.
