Performed coding, modeling, testing, and writing reports for flawed rotating dynamic systems. The research involved cracked rotating shafts that oscillate based on flaw depth. Neural network coding was implemented to learn/model/predict the oscillations as the crack depth value changed. The network was then evaluated against the system’s dynamic equations of motion to predict the behavior of the system, assess the performance of the network, and provide insight into the lifespan of the flawed system. As an undergraduate researcher, I was tasked with developing weekly reports for my research professor based on the work assigned and the performance of the code for each iteration of the testing.

I was employed as a shop worker that fulfilled orders and directly interacted with customers picking up small-order material. I gained a significant understanding of the different types of aluminum and steel as well as hands-on experience with heavy machinery and shop tools.

As the shop receiver, I was responsible for checking in arriving trucks, unloading beams, sheet metal, and bar stock, verifying material test and mill reports, and checking in material getting ready to be sold to customers. I gained significant experience with heavy machinery and general shop tools, as well as a vast knowledge of the metals that Nivert was ordering and selling.
