My responsibilities in Dr. Caroline DeLong’s lab included daily training and perceptual testing of goldfish in the lab and multiple weekly sessions leading training and testing sessions for North American river otters at the Seneca Park Zoo. I also managed and mentored undergraduate research assistants, cared for the health of the lab's animals, maintained aquaria, prepared new stimuli, and assisted with designing future research protocols.

The class contained approximately 200 students, and my responsibilities included grading course materials, leading a recitation section, holding office hours, reviewing new course materials prior to use in class, proctoring exams, and attending all lectures.

I worked at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS) studying coral population genetics and bleaching responses in Dr. Diego Lirman’s lab. My responsibilities included isolating DNA for gel electrophoresis and qPCR, lipid extractions, looking after tanks of corals, and assisting in the field. I also trained and supervised an intern from a local high school. Cruise time: 1 day.
