I am a motivated young professional currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Computer Science. I’m dedicated and innovative and have the related education, practicum, and experience to contribute to long-range operational objectives in an Associate Software Development role. I’m passionate about solving problems and getting programs to work in creative ways.In Data Structures, I wrote a program that used a heap sort to go through and sort data. I toyed with utilizing a bubble sort which is easier to code, but wouldn’t do be as efficient. I ended up using logarithmic sorts that enabled us to go through the data far quicker and solved all the problems facing me.In Databases, I created a database of all of the traffic flows in Connecticut to best recommend where to place tolls. I gathered information from the CT DOT website for the average daily traffic seen by each town along it's stretch of road. By creating a set of tables, I stored the data to use the database I constructed reports reflecting where tolls should be placed; ie: I-95, I-91, and I-84. When Connecticut released it's own reports, my work coincided with the proposed toll placements by CT DOT. For Python, I worked on several security related problems; brute forcing a one-way hash, deciphering an encoded document by the professor. To solve many of these problems, I had think differently than I have in the past. I found solving these problems both challenging, and rewarding. I would welcome the opportunity to work with a company that will utilize my skill set while allowing me to continue to expand my knowledge base.
