Evan Williams (LLM (Hons)) is the founder and a director of the Williams Group of companies. He is the immediate past Chair of Te Papa Tongarewa, the Museum of New Zealand, having been a board member for 8 years and the Chair for 6 years. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Koi Tu - The Centre for Informed Futures at Auckland University. A former law lecturer, he is a lawyer, investor and company director with international experience across a range of sectors including energy, aviation, government, property development, conservation and iwi. He was one of the chief authors of the co-governance arrangements with iwi for the Waikato River treaty settlements and has been Chairman of the Auckland City Mission, Chapman Tripp (a large NZ national law firm), a director of and a Board member of Aerco Ltd (an international aircraft leasing company), Kiwis For Kiwi, the Parenting Place, and a founder or director of a wide range of private and philanthropic entities.
