As the Business Operation Manager, my primary responsibility is the proper handling of purchasing, cash handling, and financial reporting for the Dan Beard Council Program Team. Additionally, I process the onboarding of seasonal staff, build and maintain event registrations for events reaching 5,000 or more attendees, and directly supervise the summer camp operations staff at Camp Friedlander and Cub World.I also manage vendor relationships to ensure our camp Trading Posts are well-stocked and that we have the proper program supplies to ensure a quality experience for Scouts and Scouters while they are at camp.

As the Camping Assistant at Dan Beard Council, I was responsible for the administrative duties associated with the camping program, including managing registrations for events such as Summer Camp, Peterloon, and high adventure trips. I also made sure camp-related content on the website was up to date, distributed information to event registrants, and answered questions Scouts/Scouters have about the events and registration process. Additionally, I administered the onboarding for seasonal summer camp staff for both Camp Friedlander and Cub World, ensuring all staff members had all required paperwork submitted prior to the start of their employment.During this time I also served as the Business Manager for both camps. This included working with vendors to design and make goods to sell in the Trading Posts, supervising camp check-in, and purchasing all supplies required by the program staff.

After working as an Aerial Guide for three months, I was promoted to an Aerial Guide Lead. In this role I was responsible for the same duties as an Aerial Guide, and was also responsible for training new Aerial Guides to help them prepare for their certification tests.

At the Kanga Klimb Aerial Adventure Course, I was certified as an Aerial Guide after being trained in guest relations, using the harness and SmartSnap system, and performing various rescues. On a day-to-day basis, I would help guests put on their harnesses, teach them how to use the SmartSnap system to navigate the course, and supervise them as they explored to ensure their safety as they navigated the course at their own pace. If a guest were to become unable to exit the course by themselves, I was responsible for either assisting them to the exit or lowering them off of the course.

In this role, I planned and taught lessons for the Introduction to Backpacking classes, as well as adapted these classes for virtual and hybrid-online learning. I also created trip and menu plans for overnight events that the Outdoor Pursuit Center was hosting, and helped ensure the success of these events.

As an employee at the Summit Bechtel Reserve's Training and Leadership Center, I worked with programs such as National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience, Scouting U, and Summit Leadership Experience, as well as external groups, to provide training to both youth leadership in Scouts BSA and professionals in various positions. My role was to ensure that all conference attendees had a fruitful experience, as well as make sure all events and activities related to the training went smoothly.
