Responsible for content development for external stakeholder consumption across a number of different platforms, including; online, social media, traditional media and other outlets.Develop strategic communications plans to deliver brand messaging and strengthen relationships with key stakeholder groups. Providing overall steer to all external communication.

Responsible for overseeing communications to the media, including preparing articles, press releases, media pitches and other content initiatives on behalf of clients. Cultivates and manages relationships with journalists and publishers. Understands client requirements and objectives and work with all team members to exceed client expectations while managing the team resources effectively.

Develop strategic communication plans, including media opportunities, tactics, and timelines consistent with the client’s overall PR strategy. Offer increased level of analysis and strategic communication recommendations based on industry knowledge. Write and edit press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, bios, case studies and backgrounders. Continuously develop relationships with key media influencers and monitor media coverage, themes and conversations on media platforms.

With a strong focus on the financial services industry my daily tasks typically involve:- liaising on a daily basis with clients and the media, often via telephone and email;- relationship building and networking with colleagues, clients and the media;- monitoring the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires and blogs, for opportunities for clients;- working as part of an account team to develop client proposals and implement the PR activity;- preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings;- researching, writing and distributing press releases to targeted media;- promoting news stories and features to the media, known as ‘selling in’;- collating, analysing and evaluating media coverage;- attending and promoting client events to the media;- assisting with the production of client publications, such as in-house magazines;- undertaking research for new business proposals and presenting to potential new clients;- managing the PR aspect of a possible crisis situation.
