I am an archivist and public historian with over five years of professional archival experience in both a government and university setting. I was a Digitization Archivist at the South Carolina Dept of Archives and History for 4.5 years. In that capacity, I was responsible for both carrying out large-scale digitization projects and digitizing records as needed for patrons, social media, exhibits, or staff use. I digitized and created metadata for records in a variety of formats, including paper, books, microfilm, and audio cassettes. Additionally, I worked collaboratively with Archives’ staff to identify records to highlight for social media, exhibits, and other applications as needed. I left the SCDAH in August 2020 in order to relocate to Fort Worth, Texas with my wife.I also ghostwrite/edit articles for a business-related blog, and I am looking for more opportunities in a wide range of subject areas for writing and editing. My thesis, titled "Varina Davis, Beauvoir, and the Fight for Confederate Memory," focuses on the incompatibility between the Lost Cause memory created by groups like the UDC and the actual past as southerners like Varina Davis experienced it.

I also assessed problems with the database constructed to access the Congressman's Intranet Quorum correspondence.
