As the founder of Beyond Boundaries I have been responsible for all areas of the Business including the design and creation of our logo and website along with marketing materialI am responsible for the business strategy, planning along with managing events organised by the company

Myself and my business partner organised and host music and Dance events for individuals with a disability or social impairment, These events are a first of their kind on the island and have been higuly successful. The events are seen as stepping stone from the Discos held in hotels and from your standard events on a weekend and help individuals become familiar with the nightlife environment and develop their social skills, all whilst having fund with friends and of course enjoying and dancing to the music

As the Founder of New Horizons Support Services Limited, I have overseen and managed all functions of the business. This includes being responsible for the formulation of all policies and procedures. To enable New Horizons to strategically grow as an organisation within agreed budgets and time-scales, I have overall responsibility for the analysis, reviewing, and development of our business strategies. I also plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organisational targets.This requires; Establishing and maintaining appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development.Business and financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management and reporting, including management and development of policies, systems, processes and personnel involved.Ensuring our activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.My role includes the motivation, training and development of staff at all levels of the organisation and delegation of tasks. I maintain professional and corporate customs, whilst enforcing ethical practices, meeting fiscal targets and managing company budgets. I also;Plan and manage internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, mission, aims and activities.Plan and implement marketing strategy, including advertising and PR, through a variety of formats and includes the design and development of our website and use of social media to ensure sales and customer retention and development.Maintain and develop corporate image and reputation, and protect and develop the company's brands via suitable PR activities and intellectual property management.We currently employ a team of 34 staff and support 30 individuals to live in the community through outreach and full time support packages.

I worked part-time at Autism Jersey whilst establishing New Horizons and was part of the Short Break Services team which provides support to individuals living in the community. As part of the team I helped deliver a number of care packages for individuals with a varied range of needs and abilities. My role included the administration of the care packages including, supporting the SBS co-ordinator, planning staffing rotas, developing care packages and ensuring client records are updated, writing risk assessments, attending MDT meetings and case reviews with parents, carers and professionals.

Within my role as a Senior Health Care Assistant, I performed a variety of tasks ranging from Administration of medication to the supervision of staff. Whilst working there I developed a number of new activity programmes such as fresh water fishing, which had led to a working partnership with the J.F.F.A who have provided training and equipment to the centre and I have also been involved in a group that has worked in conjunction with the Jersey National Trust and Mencap on the Pond Project.I have chaired a working group which was tasked with developing an information pack for service users and their carers who are in transition from children to adult services and have played a fundamental role in assisting clients to create and develop their own Person Centred Plans. In this role I worked with a wide range of people with Special Needs, from those with profound physical needs, to people who require highly structured programmes and higher ratios of staffing. I have worked on complex transitions from the school environment into Adult Services. I am experienced in creating Life Skills programmes and also staff training programmes for projects supporting individuals with Autistic spectrum conditions . I have developed daily activity programmes and communication tools, have experience writing Care Plans, Risk Assessments and Person Centred Plans. I also have experience in organising and running Activity Days and Service User holidays.I regularly co-ordinated a day centre and its satellite community bases. In this role I would oversee the activities programme and personal care needs of those accessing the services. Up to 84 people a day, including staff, were accessing or providing services at the day centre and its bases

Les Amis is a charity that provides accommodation and support within the community to people with a variety of conditions and syndromes that have meant the individuals have learning difficulties. My position was as a support worker to 6 residents and key worker to one resident in particular, who was on the Autistic Spectrum. My role involved assisting them with tasks that need to be met on a daily basis such as food hygiene and shopping. It also involved helping the residents to develop themselves as individuals and create targets they wished to achieve.

In my time I worked in many areas within Barclays, completing various tasks and duties, which involved contact with both customers and other departments. This experience helped develop my communication skills, enabled me to learn how to work in a team and on my own. The positions involved working to deadlines and taught me how to prioritise my work. My last role there was within their Premier Banking division. Between 2003 and 2005 I took a career break and went travelling around the world. Upon my return I was re-employed by Barclays.I left in 2006 as I wished to pursue a career in Health and Social Care after enjoying the voluntary work I had been doing since returning to the island.
