I’ve successfully led strategic communication efforts for the Vice President, served as the Communications Director for two high-profile statewide campaigns and the active Chairwoman of the 100-member Congressional Progressive Caucus, and delivered results as the on-the-record national Press Secretary for a presidential candidate. Prior to this, I was a trusted writer for elected officials, non-profit leaders, and candidates across America. Whether in the White House, the halls of Congress, or the 20 media markets of Texas, I have a proven record of working directly with elected officials and the media — proactively pitching stories, fielding press requests, shaping pieces, briefing reporters, and preparing for major interviews. Operating best in high-stakes environments, I have also created, implemented, and evaluated multifaceted strategic communication plans. And as an action-oriented team leader who creates and seizes opportunities, I’ve crafted press events, town halls, messaging tours, talking points, statements, remarks, op-eds, briefing memos, rollouts, rapid response plans, and engaging digital content while balancing a range of competing deadlines.
