I started Kaplan Financial Advisors in 2004 after a career as a portfolio manager and equities analyst. I love helping people by giving them the time, energy and expertise they need to straighten out and manage their financial lives: investments, financial planning, insurance, estate planning, tax minimization, exec. comp, etc.I began working with investments in the 1980s as an equities analyst in Tokyo. I researched Japanese companies and produced numbers-laden reports for institutional investors (aka "the sell-side"). I subsequently worked 8 years in Europe managing up to $1 billion in institutional funds invested in Asia and Emerging Markets. My final stop in this investment journey was opening a Fee-Only firm -- Kaplan Financial Advisors -- in 2004. I'm committed to providing objective financial advice and investment management untainted by product sales inducements. My average individual client has a net worth of $1 to 10 million. On-going clients benefit from planning solutions provided by me and my "best in class" expert team of trusted professionals. My clients receive a transparent, high-touch service with the highest level of Fiduciary integrity in the industry. My clients are preparing for retirement or already are retired. I work with couples and I specialize in helping women. The key driver in my 30+ year investment journey has been the shift from anonymous, large scale institutional money management to deeply personal, individual management for my clients. My goal is to improve the quality of my clients' lives by taking over key areas that eat up their time and energy: investment management, taxes, estate planning and financial planning issues.
