As a Business Systems Analyst in the Experience Studies department I am working under the Assistant Vice President for Experience Studies. My primary tasks revolve around internal requests and due diligence for quarterly reporting updates as I assist the AVP. The main focus of these requests and reports is on the mortality and lapse rates and various factors that affect these rates. The experience studies that we run on our different products are used to generate reports that are used in many different departments such as Product Development, Pricing, and Marketing.

I am responsible for assisting the managers in various departments as they complete their due diligence and projects. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with meetings, presentations, data research, and performing updates on a regular basis.I started in January working for Product Development with a primary focus on annuity products. Working directly under the VP of Product Development, I was able to assist the department in performance of fund selection, interest rate updates and the development of a formalized fund review process.In late April, I rotate into the Valuation - Actuarial Processes department. I will work directly under the Experience Studies team that focuses primarily on the mortality rate and factors influencing this rate.
