A trusted advisor to some of the country’s most successful companies and national brands, Evette Davis is a veteran communication professional with wide-ranging experience in politics, media relations, public relations, and public affairs. A former journalist and congressional press secretary, Davis co-manages the firm with her partner Jessica Berg. Davis believes in consensus, transparency, and excellence. She successfully redirects public conversations while protecting her client's long-term goals and reputation. She manages various projects related to lobbying, grassroots outreach, coalition building, media relations, government relations, labor relations, and crisis communications. Her current and former clients roster includes Advance SF, Oakland School for the Arts, Marble Robot, Longfellow Real Estate Partners, Sweetgreen, Costco, CVS, Nike, Related Companies, City College of San Francisco, Starbucks, AT&T, and the San Francisco Bar Pilots, the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and many others. An accomplished writer, Davis is frequently called in as a speech doctor to help reshape remarks. She also spearheads the firm’s research projects, overseeing communication audits and survey work for BergDavis clients. Davis also serves as Executive Editor of the “BDPA Newsroom,” a social media content development service the firm provides to select clients. Additionally, Davis manages the firm’s pro-bono services. Past clients include Swords to Plowshares, Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, the Berkeley Library Foundation, and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. Davis is a member of the Bay Area Council’s Board of Directors, a member of Biocom California’s Bay Area Regional Policy Committee, and volunteers for Springboard Enterprises, an accelerator for women-led companies. Before founding BergDavis, she served as press secretary to Rep. Karen Shepherd (D-Utah). Davis also worked as a reporter in the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington, DC. In addition to helping run the firm, Davis is a science fiction and fantasy writer. Her most recent novel, 48 States, was named one of Kirkus's Best Indie Books of 2022. She lives in San Francisco.
