CurrentAccurate timing is crucial for data transfer over the internet, all industries, science and everything from GPS to financial trading. I'm currently optimizing the performance and operation of new Atomic clocks (Atomic spectroscopy) both experimentally, and with new control and analysis software. I've combined my skills in optics, spectroscopy, RF, cavities, quantum mechanics, signal analysis and electronics to deliver these complex instruments. They are 30 billion times more accurate than your watch!Assembling and optimising systems for new atomic clocks. Optimising both free space and fibre optics. Improving magneto optical traps, validating the detection systems and troubleshooting other systems.Created monitoring and control software (C/Python/Git). Developed and tested software to monitor, compute and apply systematic corrections for remote labs.Upgraded and validated microwave synthesisers. Modified PCB layout, soldered SMDs and improved output power and quality to within system requirements. Then integrated the hardware and wrote supporting documentation.Ensuring standards and regulations are met at all times. Maintaining record of safety procedures and documentation for the labs.
