I am the creator and main editor of XMLfr (http://xmlfr.org), the first and main site dedicated to XML for the French speaking community (XMLfr itself is built with Java, XML, XSLT).I am the author of the books "XML Schemas" and "RELAX NG" publisghed by O'Reilly.I am an editor on the English speaking site XML.com (http://xml.com).I am a speaker, conference chair and reviewer for many XML conferences (XML 200X; XML Europe 200X, EBDs (Edifrance), conferences W3C; Open Source Conference, Forum XML, …).I am member and editor of the ISO DSDL (Document Schema Definition Languages) Working Group.I am a trainer an consultant for many customers.

I was managing the European team (5 different locations) in charge of the second level of support for the Adaptive Server Enterprise product range.I have improved the technical expertise of the team to the level of receiving recognition from the engineering organization. The European model of the team was adapted and implemented in the US.I have managed and successfully resolved escalations with Sybase key customers.I have initiated, developed and maintained the internal web site for Product Support Engineering. This effort improved the effectiveness of the organization and improved the communication with other world wide organizations such as first level support by :* providing an easier and more powerful access to the corporate cases database, * handling an email notification system,* providing simple tools to manage the team business operations.

I have been managing, at a technical level, the relations between the involved Sybase departments and 2 of the main customers in France.I have built long term partnerships with these customers by organizing the structures in charge of following their projects and problems and developing specific product presentations.I have successfully handled escalations with these customers.I have represented Sybase at the French Sybase Users Group.Taking profit of these constructive relationships, the sales reps have been able to increase the business with these customers.

I have successfully managed the technical actions for major prospects.I have developed some very innovative demonstrations.I have developed and maintained a tool to track all pre-sales contact with our prospects.I was in charge of the technical coordination of the pre-sales department.

I have managed the definition, development and industrialization of a new product (enterprise access and time control system).The development involved:* hardware (development of smart card readers), * real time and networking software developmentapplication software development (based on Informix / Unix).The result was a highly flexible and innovative system.To achieve this result, selected new technologies and built a complete development team and methodology relying on the market and application knowledge available in the company.

I have developed a new product range (smart card readers for enterprise access and time control systems).This has been achieved by completely redefining the tools and methodologies used (introduction of an electronic board CAD system, and of high level microprocessors programming tools).

(SFTP was a French subsidiary of TRT and Philips Electronics)I have managed all the technical functions (pre-sales, product customization and post sales support) and was involved in a lot of contacts with other Philips subsidiary, especially in UK, Holland and Australia.I have successfully managed the introduction and of an Australian mobile radio. This low cost product was originally designed for the Australian local market and its customization for the French market where it has been widely used by firemen and taxi drivers has required to create a new technical infrastructure in France.

(TRT was a French subsidiary of Philips Electronics)The responsibility included hardware and software (networking) development of a mobile telephone for the first network in France.The challenge, in a department usually working for government and army, was to control the product cost.

(TRT was a French subsidiary of Philips Electronics)This system allowed the French policemen to exchange emails and access the stolen cars and researched people databases from their cars.It has been successfully deployed all over the French territory (100 sites).

CO2 measurement at the Amsterdam Island (Indian Ocean).I have developed the computer control system and run the measurement on site for 1 year.As the only computer expert in this team studying ocean's role in carbon dioxide (CO2) increase, isolated on a small island 13 000 km away from the management , I was free to take all the implementation decisions.
