CurrentOffice of Energy Market Regulation - Central Division, Group 7In my current role, my job duties encompass, but are not limited to the following:• Specialized knowledge in and understanding of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. (MISO) and Southwest Power Pool, Inc. (SPP) transmission providers, their respective service territories, and their respective tariffs and business practice manuals• Proficient knowledge in and understanding of sections 205 and 206 of the Federal Power Act (FPA)• Lead teams to write and prepare delegated letter orders, Commission orders, and deficiency letters that are publicly issued by the Commission• Perform moderate to complex technical analysis, statistical analysis, and research on a variety of Commission-jurisdictional issues• Coach analysts on a variety of different FPA section 205 filings• Specialization in the following fields (dealing with both traditional and novel issues that arise): - variety of different types of service agreements - generator interconnection (i.e., agreements, procedures, studies, interconnection queues, cost allocation for network upgrades and related facilities, non-conforming provisions, Mobile Sierra, compliance with Commission's applicable pro forma agreements) - merchant high-voltage direct current connection (i.e., agreements, procedures, cost allocation, non-conforming provisions, novel issues) - transmission planning (i.e., long-range transmission planning, cost allocation including along MISO/SPP seam, requests for recovery of abandoned plant, postage stamp to sub-regional cost allocation methodologies, future transmission expansion to upgrade the grid) - transmission provider formula rates (i.e., verifying costs includable in annual revenue requirements, ensuring no under or over recovery of costs, that applicable costs reported in formula rates match, if used, applicable FERC Form No. 1's) - transmission owner initial funding - compliance filings
