About Ewan Bohannon

I am a mechanical engineer with software and electronics experience.For my master's thesis, I completed an initial data acquisition and control system that powers and positions a Wirewalker vertical ocean profiler via regenerative braking of the Livewire electric motor generator. My thesis research and subsequent work cover the software and electronics development of the Livewire project for the Multiscale Ocean Dynamics Lab at UCSD. As an intern at AEP Energy, I automated a major environmental evaluation process by developing a modular software tool for ArcGIS. I also helped optimize the engineering design process and analyzed solar power tools.
