As programme manager directed the delivery of electronic protection systems for all RAF aircraft.  Transformed high-level strategic intent into operational and tactical plans working with and directing multi-Service and multi-national stakeholders, leading to plan realisation and delivery.  Ensured UK equipped for intense operations balancing scarce resource against requirement.  Controlled the level of risk being held regarding the electronic self protection of aircraft worldwide; maintained operational output with no aircraft losses.  Administered RAF Crash Fire and Rescue capability both in UK and internationally with direct responsibility for the morale and welfare of 500 fire-fighters.  Coordinated and set-up provision of military capability in response to civil fire-fighter industrial action.  Instigated and directed £1m training project for operational aircraft realized through contractor tender and negotiation of existing contracts, which saved £0.5m; increased aircraft operational availability.

Accountable for 70-200 personnel.  As focal point, provided senior leadership, direction and expert advice on air operations to the Headquarters command. Provided rapid deployment of military forces to 4 disparate locations.  Maximized the utilisation of up to 200 aircraft; achieved all strategic delivery targets.

Re-structured to accommodate helicopter operations (previously absent); initiative ensured full support without interruption to output.  Wrote and co-ordinated critical and sensitive Ministerial Submissions and responses to Parliamentary Questions against extremely demanding time constraints.

Kabul, Afghanistan

Delivered specialist operations and planning expertise to entire multi-national military community.  Initiated analysis of in-theatre aircraft allocation, systems and processes; identified core issues and developed bespoke solution for air support across the complete Afghanistan region.  Increased output to meet requirement; gained NATO and Afghan leaders' trust and acclaimed by senior NATO air commander.
