  • Community Leadership Fellows
    2023 Clf Fellow
Community Leadership Fellows Nov 2022 - Present
    Chicago, Illinois, United States
Community Leadership Fellows is a stipend leadership program that involves; educational workshops, tactical trainings, collaborative learning, coaching, mentoring and networking. We believe that the investment in homegrown talent will lead to sustainable, vibrant communities. By approaching the fellowship with the concept of “do nothing about me without me,” the Fellows will have the support to lay down a foundation that will lead the residents of the westside to reclaim their blocks, their community and their businesses. These communities will then have the power to shift mindsets about the westside. When you invest in people from the community to lead, true economic and social change will take place. CLF is taking away the stigma of grassroots leaders not being polished enough to take part in advanced leadership programs. We are shifting that mindset by building social capital in order to build capacity. We are a feeder system. We will prepare the Fellows to enter the leadership pipeline to create a space at the table that has been vacant for far too long.

Chicago Westside Police And Youth Sports Conference Nov 2019 - Present
    Chicago, Illinois, United States
Our purpose is to promote safe activities for children and their families in high-crime, under-resourced areas. The most unique feature of the conference is it's "Full Court Press" initiative that combines the unified efforts of local police, churches, and community organizations to promote positive, transforming change. Boys and girls can learn about leadership, accountability, organization, preparation, conflict resolution and teamwork in a tangible and practical way. With this same logic, adults who take on the role of coach and mentor practice the concepts of collaboration. The hope is as all parties work together successfully in a project like this, the same concept can be applied to positively address inequality, poverty and gun violence. Quality athletic instruction is just the beginning: Our focus is on health and wellness, education, mentoring, and athletic excellence.
