I am a designer and educator at heart. My work is fueled by the power of collaboration, communication, curiosity, and play. Over the past three years, I have supported over 600 Virtual Learning Experiences from facilitators around the world. FieldTrips are first and foremost a community. I developed codes of conduct for both hosts and attendees, and a playbook of interventions for CreativeMornings’ technical support, to create a welcoming, equitable, inclusive community. These guidelines set the tone for the space we create together – if you step into the FieldTrip room, you are committed to a safe environment for all. I empower FieldTrip hosts of all stripes – whether first-time facilitators or virtual workshop pros – to deliver the best interactive experience possible. By distilling my observations across hundreds of FieldTrips and my own expertise on constructionist learning into a handbook for hosts, as well as offering live coaching on consultative calls, I work with each FieldTrip host to dream boldly about how to bring their material alive for our community and activate their vision in a virtual space. I reflect the beautiful things the community creates by writing and curating the weekly FieldTrips newsletter (~78k subscribers). Previously an announcement of the upcoming FieldTrip schedule, the newsletter now showcases the wisdom and learnings of our community and things we make together, from watercolor meditations and pancakes to business plans. I model and gather learnings from facilitating my own virtual experiences – February Feel Good (a 28-day habit challenge), The Artist’s Way Kickstarter, a 4-week program based on Julia Cameron’s 12-week program, and a Time Capsule Building series, among others. My Dream as the Head of FieldTrips is to make learning accessible, fun, and meaningful for all. I think we’re doing a pretty great job!!I live in Brooklyn with my dog Jack Charles. I love sparkles, making indiepop music, and I draw cartoons with a non-binary character named bean.
