David Bond is an award-winning genre film writer and producer specializing exclusively in genre films and horror films' marketing. He is a member of CMPA, AMPIA, Producers Network at Cannes, and the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television. He sits on the advisory council of the ESIO.Mr. Bond's career began with COOKERS and AMERICAN CRIME for Lionsgate Films. Since then, he has had many successful films, such as EXTREMITY for Dark Elegy Films, available on Shudder, and released by Sony in Germany and has overseen the 1980s horror reboot hit, THE BOOGEYMAN as a producer and writer.Mr. Bond executive produced the 70s-style arthouse horror film ANTRUM: The Deadliest Film Ever Made. In the spring of 2020, ANTRUM became the number one film on Amazon Prime. Having a Theatrical Release in JAPAN on February 9th and the UK on October 26th, it already appears on three Top 10 lists. In the spring of 2020, ANTRUM went viral globally by reaching over 200k on BuzzFeed and having over 70 million watches on TikTok videos. Also, in 2020, Voice Pictures's BLOODTHIRSTY was part of the Frontieres Buyers Showcase at Cannes. In the fall of 2020, BLOODTHIRSTY was sold to XYZ, and it was the closing night film for Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. As a result, it was nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards. its was also Certified Fresh, by Rotten Tomatoes in the spring of 2021. The film was release in the UK, thru Signature Entertainment. Mr. Bond was also served as executive producer for DONT SAYS ITS NAME which had it premiere in 2021 at Fantasia in Montreal and co-produced CREEPYPASTA in 2020.In 2021, his film DARK WOODS was accepted as part of the WIFT's "From Our Dark Side" program and part of the Telefilm's Indigenous Production Stream. He executive produced “HUESERA” which showed footage at Cannes’ Blood Window and was feature part of it Fantastic 7 Program in 2020 at cannes for funding. His columbian co production “FRONTERA” is part of Frontieres at Fantasia this year. In the fall of 2021, he will co-produce “FEEDER” and “MOTEL 13” in Alberta, Canada. His movies have been screened in over fifty major film festivals worldwide, including Sitges, Brussels, FrightFest, Fantasia, and Bucheon, and he has sold his films in 30 countries.
Besides his film projects, David co-wrote the book VHS Nasty: The History of Banned Films through Hellbound Books. He contributed articles to Fangoria, Fear, and GoreZone magazines. He owns his own white label brand of Absinthe, called La Petit Mort. In addition, he's an international art collector and painter.
