Project Activities:Metro Ethernet Network (MERS8600):• Involved in Demo Preparation of Emerging Switching Technology named Metro Ethernet Networks (MEN) for CYBERNET. The Demo includes configuration of PBT trunks between two MERS8600 with latest software releases 4.2 and ISID instances for Service provisioning. The Demo network contains two MERS8600 with 10 ESU1800 and 2 ESU1850. • Involved in Commissioning and Integration of Network Management System (NMS) for MEN Network i.e. Metro Ethernet Manager (MEM).• Involved in Software Upgrade of MERS8600 from release 3.9 to release 4.2.• ATM/FR Network:• Involved in Software and NMS Upgrade of Nortel MSS Network which includes software upgrade of 84 Operational Nodes and 2 NMS Nodes. • Involved in NMS commissioning and integration of nodes in PTML MSS Network.• Implementing the Core Transmission Network for Voice/Data traffic. This included the core GSM voice traffic based on G729a/b compression and Data traffic based on Frame relay network.• Deployed Passports 7000 and 15000 series at remote sites for termination of PSTN and GPRS traffic and carrying it to core site over V35 trunks. • Responsible for the configuration of all Voice E1s at Transmission End in Telenor Network using Nortel PVG/Passports. • Engaged with Telenor Pakistan for re-engineering and optimization services of Core Transmission Network.• Network optimization & capacity planning in terms of IP Bandwidth, no. of E1s in TDM interconnects and software licenses etc based on traffic patterns.DXX Responsibilities:• Network wide deployment of MDM and UNEM (NMS) for the integration of all the passport and UMUX nodes for the purpose of central management. • Carried out the overall project of Swap of Sites that are integrated to BSCs via UMUX.
