Prottoy, culminated in my M.Engg. Thesis, is a lightweight middleware for context-aware application that showed how API independent design could isolate all access issues for system components resulting in simple and rapid application development. In addition, during my stay at Waseda, I designed and developed a number of smart objects by augmenting everyday objects with sensors and actuators, e.g., a mirror, a chair, a desk, a lamp, a door, a toothbrush, a comb, etc. The most notable one was AwareMirror, a peripheral display augmented mirror. These objects and their associated applications in the areas of ambient lifestyle feedback, activity logging, collaborative applications etc. were exhibited in several exhibitions including Embedded Technology 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 at Yokohama, Japan.
