Commissioning Specialist at Saudi Aramco - Ras Tanura Refinery - Clean Fuels Project➽ Prepare & develop manuals and detailed commissioning procedures for Commissioning of Naphtha Hydrotreating unit (NHT), Continuous Catalytic Reforming & Regeneration units (CCR), Isomerization (ISOM) unit, Flare, Tankfarm, Process and Utilities interconnecting Pipeways at Saudi Aramco Ras Tanura Refinery (RTR) Clean Fuels Project.➽ Identify opportunities, report deficiencies, and provide advices, recommendation and requirements to improve production operations by submitting proposals to client called Advice Tickets, and prepared 500+ advice tickets which were submitted to proponent.➽ Constructed a one-page simplified diagram for each unit (CCR, NHT, Flare & Tankfarm) based on P&ID drawings. The simplified diagrams is extremely powerful tool in onboarding new engineering and operations personnel.

➽ Responsible for operation of Hydrogen Generation Unit to supply hydrogen (262.5 MMSCFD) and steam to Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) Ltd.➽ Develops tools for continuous monitoring of the net profit of the plant, and daily follow-up on the economical performance, profit gap analysis and cost saving of the plant.➽ Responsible for the deployment of Smart Innovative Operation tool (SiO.Perform), and achieved 2016 award for the Best Economical Performance.➽ Contributes to the efficiency projects for maximizing steam production based on break-even point, and control of PSA inlet temperature to achieve higher PSA recovery.➽ Trains the production team on the economical optimization of the plant.➽ Leads production team for the safe shutdown and startup of the plant during TAR, and updated the necessary operations SOP.➽ Participates on Root Cause Analysis, and Global Reliability Improvement study.

➽ Participated in pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup activities, including leak test, inerting, heaters dry-out, steam blowing and Mechanical Run Test for pumps, compressors, and turbines.➽ Participated on the successful execution for the refinery startup to process 400,000 BPSD of crude by estimating the utilities requirements, the monthly allocation of purchased sales gas during refinery startup. and LPG requirements for fuel gas system in case of non availability of sales gas.➽ Assigned as a committee member chaired by the Manufacturing Vice President to develop a comprehensive refinery start-up sequence, and corresponding balances for Hydrogen, Butane, Fuel Gas, Sales Gas, and Steam when operating with Arab Light Crude as well as Arab Heavy Crude.➽ Gained strong technical knowledge of refining operations (Crude & Vacuum distillations), hydrotreating and hydrocraking operations (HCK, DHT, NHT), sour gas treating, and sulfur recovery units.➽ Developed the process simulation model using Aspen HYSYS for Crude Distillation Unit (CDU), and Vacuum Distillation Unit (VDU).➽ Responsible for Refinery Energy Accounting deployment as part of Integrated Refinery Information System (IRIS). Participated in its functional requirements, detailed design, model acceptance, and factory acceptance & site acceptance tests➽ Participated in the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for Utilities, and performed Model Verification Test (MVT) for all system in Utilities.➽ Performed troubleshooting on technical and operational issues such as flare puffing, condensate hammering, and fuel gas imbalances.
