I work with 11-16 year olds in a number of different capacities. This includes supporting a youth club, doing outreach and promoting creative arts.

Currently delivering a mentoring project specifically for Young Muslims living, studying or working in Islington.Mentors are highly motivated and looking to give back to their communities by ensuring that young people aspire to be successful.This is achieved via one-to-one mentoring, running a youth club exclusively for the project weekly and ensuring that young people feel valued by society. To celebrate a residential is being planned for December 2010 to celebrate the successful outcomes of the project.

As the Project Manager I oversee MuslimYouth Net, a website designed for young people to express their views through an interactive resource.This includes articles, forums and vox pops.

July 7th 2010 marked the fifth anniversary of the 7/7 bombings. To mark the occassion a group of writers contributed to a book 7/7 Muslim Perspectives to mark the occasion.I was fortunate enough to write a chapter for the book highlighting that we should not apologise for the actions of criminals.

I successfully delivered a commmunity based project. The purpose of the Criminals in the Community is to highlight the negative impact of crime and what solutions are available to prevent it.

As a Volunteer Coordinator on the Agents4Change project I set up one off voluntary events for young people to take part in.

As a Mentor I interacted with Young People who were likely to fall into the NEET category.

I Interacted with the key stakeholder groups that the university represents. As an advocate for the university I have been able to effectively promote the university through various different activities such as campus tours and open days.
