Fariz completed his early education abroad in Adelaide, South Australia where he attended Pembroke School. He then graduated from The University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Engineering and Finance, double degree.After university, Fariz joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia’s Deals Advisory practice as an Associate in M&A Advisory (Transaction Services). He worked on over 20 deals – both local and cross-border – spanning the manufacturing, oil & gas, agriculture, power, food & beverage and hospitality industries. Fariz stayed with the firm 4 years (up to Assistant Manager) and earned his Foundation of Accounting qualifications through CPA Australia. He is currently a Certified Practicing Accountant of Australia (CPA Australia) and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM).In 2015, Fariz co-founded The Bowery Group – an F&B group – where he took on the role of Financial Controller. In addition to the restaurant outlet business, the group boasted a successful corporate catering arm that catered for corporate events, weddings as well as contract supply.Fariz joined Rabin & Associates as a Consultant in 2015. Now as Partner, Fariz is involved in a wide range of engagements including audit, tax advisory & structuring, personal & corporate income tax, indirect tax (Sales & Service Tax), outsourced business process management (accounting & payroll) and human resource management. Fariz is an avid (Arsenal) football fan and enjoys playing football, futsal, table tennis, squash, tennis, golf and most recently cycling. Often he can be found on the golf course working on that elusive short game or cycling many miles in search of that legendary bowl of laksa in the kampung everyone talks about.
