FARO cooperates and works together with governmental bodies, waterboards, SMEs, institutes for higher education and research centres and PPC. Professional support to project development, financing (among others EU subsidies), project execution and organisation. Projectmanagement and project leadership are most common functions and tasks. Next to this, FARO Consultancy performs (applied) scientific research in the field of circular economy issues.

Vu Amsterdam, Proeftuin Zwaagdijk Oost

Nieuwe kansen voor het hergebruik van grondstoffen, passend in de doelstellingen van de Circulaire Economie (Transitieagenda's) worden onderzocht in een project dat wordt ondersteund door STOWA, Waterschap Vallei en Veluwe en Waterschap Rijn en IJssel. Zuiveringsslib dat potentieel een grote waarde heeft voor toepassing in de landbouw vanwege het hoge gehalte aan organische stof en de aanwezige sporenelementen, is verontreinigd met zware metalen die een hergebruik verhinderen. M.b.v. biologische methodes (phytoremediatie met geselecteerde planten en paddenstoelen) wordt onderzocht of het slib zodanig kan worden gereinigd dat slib opnieuw toegepast kan worden. Samen met een brede range van partners van onderzoeksinstellingen en ketenpartners werd een aantal experimenten uitgevoerd die inzicht gaven in de mogelijkheden.

Utrecht Area, Netherlands

Commissioned by BIJ12, the executive body of the joint Dutch provinces, FARO Advies catalyzed the common efforts of all nature conserving organisations in the Netherlands for effective monitoring of Natura 2000 sites by writing a project proposal that is submitted in September 2016 to the LIFE EU program for approval. Next to all Dutch nature conservation organisations, EU partners from Ireland, France, Poland and Czech Republic are involved in this project to discuss and participate in the design. North Sea Regions

Peter Laan animated and supported project development with the 13 partners from 7 North Sea countries aligned. Themes: Education, Broadband applications and digital services, Wellbeing and life style - Healthy ageing, SMEs empowerment, Good governance, Community Building, Branding and profiling of the region.Based on this, together with a core group from the Vital partnership, a new working model for tackling regional problems was developed: the Rural Power Pack. In the Dissemination phase (2014) the results and methodology were spread across Europe and connected to new regions; ideas for new projects were born and partners found. Inspiration was especially on Talent development and entrepreneurship and Healthy Ageing (see: www.vitalruralarea.eu)

Completion of current LEADER-program, assessment of projects in the framework of EFF (European Fishery Fund) and consultation of projects submitted to the Waddenfonds. Concept and content management of the new LEADER program Noord-Holland Noord (2014-2020): fromation of LEADER Local Action Group, writing of Regional Development Strategy for the LEADER region "Kop van Noord-Holland and Texel" and initiation of new projects.

Zwolle/Arnhem

Senior advisor on Regional Development issues, i.e. the implementation of Natura 2000. Project leader

On KDS (Knowledge Center for Sustainable Development of Urban and Rural Areas, linked to Fontys University of Applied Science) I worked on the program "Particulate Matter in southeast Brabant: neutrality in 2012 by greening programs". As projectleader I worked together with a broad variety of partners: Triple E Consultancy in Arnhem (www.tripleee.nl). provincie Noord-Brabant, SRE, Floriade 2012 (Venlo) and several partners from public and private origin.
