As a senior leader in health advocacy, information and support, I am proud to spearhead Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF)’s mission goal to enable people affected by type 1 diabetes in the UK to live well.This is achieved through providing trusted information resources, co-produced with healthcare professionals and individuals with type 1, to enable people to feel confident they can manage their condition as a result of our information and support.Our team efforts extend beyond resources to include handling daily enquiries, advising on access to life-changing diabetes technologies, and organising national community events in partnership with the NHS, voluntary sector organisations, and the type 1 community.With a seat on multiple Advisory and Executive Boards, I bring a wealth of expertise and a strategic approach to fostering partnerships and driving innovation in healthcare and community support, rooted in the needs of the community.Before joining Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), I honed my skills at Barclays, where I managed regional community and citizenship programmes, including a high-impact collaboration with Macmillan Cancer Support. This experience cemented my commitment to building meaningful connections that improve lives and drive systemic change.
