About Fatima A.

I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Environmental Applied Science and Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). My thesis aims to investigate what combinations of microbial communities from wastewater are best suited for the degradation of textile microplastics to help mitigate their emissions from our waterways. I have presented at numerous conferences and symposiums to a wide variety of audiences and consistently seeking opportunities to make science more accessible. Additionally, I am passionate about science communication and hope to make a bigger impact in ensuring that scientific research is effectively communicated to the public. I have worked with youth to enhance their abilities to engage with low income, racialized communities about new research. If you want to chat more, then please message me.
