About Faye Baker

I am currently working as a Behaviour and inclusion Manager for LearnAt academy Trust, part of my role is to embed positive practices and Ethos within schools and to support SLT with policies and strategies to support all staff. Previous roles include Engagement Co Ordinator / Interventions Lead at a ISP school with Primary age children with ASD & SEMH, my main focus was to help children reengage with education, to feel safe, happy and allow pupils to have a sense of belonging and building on the positive, whilst implementing the zones of regulation throughout the school, I also lead and planed interventions for pupils that included Boxhall profile, SALT Imput with direction SALT and Sensory interventions with direction from occupational Therapist.I have also been a Graduate Response Practitioner at Oakfield Short Stay School (PRU) a primary provision for children that have been suspended, excluded or duel registered, my role includes supporting Pupils to become more regulated and how to help them control their emotional outbursts / behaviours by gaining trust and using an array of interventions that suit the individual child’s needs.I supported children, staff and schools to try and prevent a permanent exclusion by observing, putting strategies and interventions in place as a bespoke package for the individual child. To help children manage their behaviours and to look out for triggers was an essential part of my role inside the PRU and supporting mainstream settings. I predominately worked with children with SEMH, ASD, PDA,ADHD, sensory processing disorders and Attachment and Trauma.Along side my role I am also a Team Teach Advanced Trainer I deliver high quality training to support schools and other organisations on how to manage behviours that challenge and understand the meaning behind it. I deliver courses across the Leicester City and County as well as delivering to whole schools ‘How to work positively with children that may challenge’ courses. I have also carried out advisory work with schools as part of my role. I have a demonstrated history of working in education and have previously worked in a area special school working with pupils age 5-19 with a variety of different abilities. At my time there I had numerous positions including Nursery Nurse, UQT, HLTA -with a focus on behaviour management.I am Skilled in working with & understanding Autism Spectrum Conditions, ADHD, SEMH, FAS, Sensory Processing,Attachment and Trauma, SEMH and Interventions including zones of regulation and sensory circuits.

I am a big advocate of giving a young Person a Champion member of staff that will care and already be there even through their darkest days.
