Report to the Vice President of Physician Services and is responsible for assisting through leadership in planning, guiding and coordinating specialty care practice operations to ensure quality of care; patient safety; patient, provider and employee satisfaction; and efficient use of financial resources.Oversight of the operations of the specialty sites while actively collaborating with Specialty Care Directors to promote an efficient and effective medical neighborhood. Identify strategic opportunities and concerns initiates planning for decision-making and problem solving in a positive manner and recommends solutions and assists with the implementation of changes. Responsible for the integration of the Biddeford and Sanford specialty practices within SMHC,Plan, develop, direct, and supervise the full scope of activities required to achieve optimal efficiency and quality service for unit of responsibility under the guidance of the Vice PresidentDirect department staff to determine the objectives and functions required to provide satisfactory levels of staff support for patients and visitorsDevelop policies and procedures to align with accrediting agencies and regulatory authorities requirements. Supervise, coach and evaluate specialty practice managers in carrying out day-to-day operations. Facilitate goal setting, attainment, leadership development of practice managers to meet objectives related to performance standards, policies and procedures and regulatory complianceSelect, employ, and develop and management of Practice ManagersConduct regular meetings with managers to communicate goals and objectives, financial performance, and other defined performance objectives.Oversight of preparation, implementation and attainment of budget targets for practices.Assist in costs control through monitoring of operational expenditures, productivity/workload data, departmental charges and supply systems and personnel utilization.

Coordinate daily operations of a multi-specialty physician practice.Supervise 60+ employees, staff physicians and physician extenders.Interview, recruit, and evaluate employees.Evaluate, mentor and coach staff. Completion of annual performance reviews on direct reports. Establish corrective actions and plans as necessary up to and including termination.Prepare and manage annual budget and operating costs for the practice. Review and respond to variance reports monthly.Review, prepare and present physician performance dashboards. Audit medical record requests from attorneys. Implement, monitor and audit performance improvement, quality initiatives, and patient surveys. Works closely with providers to establish clinical protocols and policies. Respond, identify, and resolve process or patient issues. Facilitate issue resolution with other departments as necessary.Represent office and providers by attending multiple hospital committee meetings.Work closely with VP of Physician Practices in development of strategic plan.Participate in marketing and development activities.Represent organization at professional meetings and conferences.Ensure practice meets Joint Commission and CMS requirements. Maintain knowledge of physician practice billing and coding processes and requirements.
