Venture Cafe's mission is to broaden, connect, and support the innovation community through public spaces and programs to help anyone with an idea succeed. Our vision is to connect individuals, communities and organizations into one tightly woven successful innovation ecosystem right here in the Piedmont Triad region. They believe equal access to a social support system can strengthen entrepreneurship, communities, and economies.My work with Venture Cafe specifically focused on creating dynamic and accessible programming that broadens the definitions of entrepreneurship and innovation in a way that was inclusive, diverse, and empowering for all.

innovateHER was a local initiative on a mission to foster economic development in North Carolina by creating, equipping and supporting local communities of women entrepreneurs. My work supported the regional ecosystem by helping female-led businesses launch, grow, create jobs and become major contributors to the local community.I helped women overcome systemic, cultural, and financial barriers to sustainable business success. I developed and nurtured community partnerships to help further our mission. Due to my expertise in nonprofit development, I raised over $30,000 in funding for women's programming and entrepreneurial training in less than five months.Project partners and sponsors include: - Wake Forest Innovation Quarter - Flywheel Coworking - Inmar - Forsyth Tech Small Business Center - Thomas S. Mink Center for Business & Leadership | Dress For Success | Additional YWCA centersIn the newly created role of Marketing Manager, I created a comprehensive strategic marketing plan for the YWCA's four centers across the island.Developed 'School of Success' brand for entrepreneurial workshops and seminars. Designed and produced new website, marketing materials, and email newsletter.Managed all marketing, media, and design for 800+ attendee annual luncheon and quarterly Downtown Uncorked events.Developed and coordinated the agency's Stand Against Racism and Equal Pay Day events.Produced a promotional video featuring successful women entrepreneurs and leaders from the local community.

Successfully funded and launched a new local affiliate of a comprehensive national nonprofit program encouraging all girls to be strong, smart, & bold.Raised over $110,000 to launch and fund new program through grants and individual giving.Worked with national leaders to implement and customize curriculum, events, and outreach for our local market.Built strategic community partnerships to further the organizational mission.

Developed and implemented a massive rebranding campaign to bring consumer/member awareness to the YWCA's Gateway Fitness Center.Raised over $60,000 in funding for youth wellness programs. Identified, wrote and received extensive grants from the United Way and the State of North Carolina.Reorganized departments, developed and implemented new policies and procedures,Conducted a comprehensive assessment of all youth programs, increased efficiency, and reduced departmental spending by 40%.
