Achievements:Project: Re-design gas production system - From Desktop Safety Review to Detail EngineeringWorked on a brownfield project for the re-design of a gas production installation handling extremely toxic and flammable gases. This involved recalculating and resizing all equipment parameters (valves, orifices, and relief valves). The new set of documents has been produced first for the basic engineering package and subsequently for the detailed engineering phase. Project: Adsorption unit for H2S removalConnected to the above-mentioned project, worked on the design of an additional safety barrier for the unit, to safely contain any unintentional release of toxic gas into the atmosphere.For both projects, I have actively participated to DSR/HAZOP and other safety studies.

Achievements:Project: Research and development of friction drilling in galvanised material. Was drafted to develop a friction drill which would work in galvanised material, historically the zink coating caused issues with the quality of the bushing and thread formed by the standard tooling. Researched and tested different geometries to control the temperature and material flow, resulting in a product which produced a fully formed bushing for up to 1000 cycles. Initial customer was Ford and this product represented a 10% increase in the groups turnover, it has now been taken on by numerous other customers in the automotive industry. Project: friction drilling on a Yamazaki Mazak tube laser. Worked with Yamazaki Mazak in Japan to establish the correct working parameters and set up to open up a new market for there tube lasers and provide a competitive advantage for them and their customers. Wrote the CNC program and then expanded the selection to cover all thread and material sizes possible to run through the machine. This resulted in an optimised cycle time improvement of 30% and more importantly became an integral part of their sales strategy, my program is now installed and used on 50 new machines a year with a market value of 75€million for Yamazaki Mazak.
