Felice Simonelli is the Head of EU Policy Monitoring & Advocacy at Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), where he leads the team in charge of: i) monitoring and analysing EU policies, funding programmes, and legislation affecting CDP’s business and investment strategy; ii) advocating for CDP’s interests at EU institutions; iii) coordinating CDP participation in public consultations, targeted consultations, and EU-level working groups and networks; and iv) strengthening CDP’s reputation by maintaining relationships with European stakeholders and organising policy and networking events in Brussels. Previously, he was a Senior Research Fellow, Head of Policy Evaluation and Head of Business Development at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), where he managed large research and consultancy projects and advised the European Commission and European Parliament on complex regulatory issues, assisting EU officials in evaluating and preparing legislation in fields such as energy, industrial competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability. He was also an Associate Researcher at the Industrial and Financial Research Group of LUISS “Guido Carli” University (Rome) and served as a Research Fellow at the Italian Space Agency. Felice was a Visiting Ph.D. Student at The Buchmann Faculty of Law (Tel Aviv University) and a Visiting Researcher at Berkeley Law (University of California) and published several papers on refereed journals. He holds a Ph.D. in Law and Economics from LUISS University, an LL.M. cum laude in Law and Economics from Erasmus University of Rotterdam and from Ghent University, a M.Sc. cum laude in Economics and Business and a Bachelor cum laude in Economics and Business from LUISS. Native Italian speaker, he is fluent in English.
