Supplier Quality Engineer
CurrentRepresent Volvo auditing suppliers.Responsible for the industrialization of products from sourcing phase through industrialization.Expert in the Manufacturing Process’ for Electrical Mechanical assemblies.Manage quality data in Volvo IT systems including certificates, APQP, PPAP, LPS, SEM, Index, SMA, etc.Monitor & guide suppliers establishing processes that consistently deliver parts per specifications.Work closely with Sourcing, Product management and Engineering Leaders to implement supplier qualifications, supplier changes, new product introductions.Manage/Support purchasing in the selection approval and qualification of suppliers.Perform source, First Article Inspections and audits.Analyze data to identify underachieving suppliers and monitor PDCA process to ensure improvement.Work in accordance with GTT Processes, Quality systems, the Volvo Way and the GTO values and behaviors.Manage portfolio of suppliers as assigned by Supplier Quality Group manager.Responsible for the quality of parts shipped by that supplier to any Volvo location.Review the RFQ content and secure all quality demands are present.Evaluate the need of and order different audits to assess risks at potential suppliers.Review and identify suppliers’ manufacturing risks and improvements potentials.Document in Handover document and handing over the sourcing case and experience to a colleague SQE.Excellent communication, diplomacy and strong project management skills.Safeguard suppliers are performing APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) for purchased parts.Review APQP and PPAP deliverables.Review critical characteristics, documentation, requirements and procedures at supplier.Approve/Reject PPAP submitted by Volvo suppliers.Participate in Part Handling Review.Contribute to resolving packaging instruction issues and engineering documentation.Worked independently (remote).Monitor management system reports on quality system compliance, status and improvement initiatives
