Lagoon Hospital is the largest private healthcare franchise in Nigeria with four busy branches in Lagos, the commercial nerve center of our country. I was privileged to work as a Full-Time Consultant Staff, offering both clinical and administrative services to the hospital, while being surrounded by a highly motivated workforce and staff with excellent team spirits!With little effort, we advanced the spectrum of neurological services available to Nigerians through realtime Electroencephalography (E.E.G) and the establishment of subspecialty neurology clinics i.e. Neuro-Rehabilitation/Sleep Clinics (Ikeja); and the Headache Clinic (Ikoyi). I was privileged to fill in for the Medical Director, Lagoon Hospitals Apapa in 2017 and 2018 and this certainly broadened my view of healthcare financing and management.As the Secretary of the Lagoon Hospitals Blood Transfusion Practices Review Committee, (a Hospital wide Clinical Audit Group), I immediately understood the urgent need for the deeper integration of a "Data Driven Culture" in our healthcare institutions.The list goes on....And my learning continues....!
