Includes domestic as well as international transport, acts as courier liaison, interfaces with lending institutions as per special loan conditions, packing/crating, transport and display needs of artworks. -Using networked database prepares receipts and maintains records of all borrowed artwork. -Working with Curators, assists in exhibition layout with an eye towards visitor traffic and artwork safety as well as building constraints. Coordinates contracted needs such as construction of false walls, gallery painting, floor refinishing. -Visually inspects all borrowed artworks and prepares written reports for all works of art -Organizes preparator/labor assistance in conjunction with exhibition changes. -Accessions artworks accepted into Permanent Collection, maintains storage records -Liaises with lender and rigging crews installation, care of and de-installation of outdoor sculptures. -Acts as primary contact for “special collections” in care and possession of the NCMA; Show less
