I have a Bachelor’s Degree of Veterinary Medicine by Federal University of Lavras in Brazil and have worked for 5 years at the University Hospital (Clinical and Surgery of Small Animals) in the same University. I got my PhD in Veterinary Sciences, working with rotaviruses and molecular biology in PhD program of the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine and Animal Health of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the University of São Paulo. I've also worked at Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute at McDonald Lab Veterinary Sciences and employed various bioinformatic and computational methods to elucidate genetic signatures that differentiate group A porcine rotavirus proteins that correlate with host species. I recently finished a post-doctoral position at Department of Parasitology Institute of Biomedical Sciences - University of São Paulo- working with Rickettsia rickettsii and imune system of ticks.I have large experience on techniques of molecular biology, such as DNA and RNA extraction and purification, RT-PCR, PCR, gene sequencing and cloning and also ELISA, PAGE, cell culture and also development, analysis and validation of assays and research techniques.
