epoxy flooring is something I began getting myself engulfed into at the age of 16 that was in the year 2004 during my sophomore high school summer break. it all started with learning what was looking to become a new mainstream type floor what we know now as pebbletech. I not realizing it then was at my basic crash course test to become a junior level mixer learning about prep the steps behind it what tools would make my job harder or easier depending how they were to be used. I come from a long line of former skilled laborers of Mexican descent that would overcome and prevail any situation that could be encountered during a residual floor installation I mean these guys would get the floor installed or trowel down. with a 2x4 if they had too I've seen it with my own eyes lol. this alumni of former Co workers I had the pleasure to work next to instilled me with knowledge that only old timers of the trade would know that no textbook or mds data sheet could get you out of these same men who put endless hours on there knees dishing square footage out as if it were going out of style who taught me to take pride in your work and don't cut corners the result is more work in the end if you do and always and i mean always work hard and come to work with your knee pads on so when you get out of your work truck your ready with your knee pads on your boss knows your not playing with floor layin! residential was the first job sites I learned about my passion for epoxy resins. in 2007 I took my knowledge I had gained from installing pebbletech in homes to new horizons and applying epoxy in industrial settings like canaries to institutions to labs to schools west coast industrial flooring was till this day my apprentice boot camp and is the reason I know a lot about what I know now today. here I learned what it took to be a true mixer. in order for me to be recognized as one. after 3 years of good unforgettable knowledge I took a Lil time off to explore other career paths but found myself once again. wanting epoxy in my life and in 2018 I met my former employer dti another stepping stone in my career path. I expanded further my knowledge in epoxy being introduced to new resins and concrete polishing. dti was responsible for me adding concrete polishing under my belt . in 2021 I after a 1 year and half hiatus I was employed with diacon which is were I finally after a long road earned my title of journeymen In my special trade of epoxy installation and concrete polishing.
